Maurice and Lucien both live on the same street in the same suburb. One is single, the other a widower. When Lucien lost his wife, Maurice, moved by his grief, said to him in the cemetery: "You'll come and eat at my house, Lucien." And since then, Lucien has been eating at Maurice's house, for better or for worse.
