Biography

Freddy Macdonald is a Student Academy Award winner, and the youngest Directing Fellow ever accepted to the AFI Conservatory. His critically acclaimed feature film debut, SEW TORN, premiered at SXSW and headlined Locarno on the Piazza Grande. Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 95%, it was theatrically released in North America before streaming on Netflix. His AFI admission film, the SEW TORN proof of concept short, was acquired by Searchlight Pictures. It received an Oscar-qualifying theatrical release nationwide alongside READY OR NOT.
