Biography

William James “Bill” Leyden was US Marine Corps Private First Class who was in the famous K Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, US 1st Marine Division (K/3/5). Leyden served with Authors Marines Eugene Sledge & R. V. Burgin. He was wounded twice by explosions, once on during the Battle of Peleliu, and the other during the Battle of Okinawa.
