Biography

Alhassan Romel (b. 2001, Cairo) is an Egyptian filmmaker whose work explores themes of love, memory, and identity through a poetic visual language. His short film SOLO: A Love Story (2025) marks his latest narrative work, following the documentaries Raised by Women and The Accordion Wizard, both officially selected at the Alexandria Short Film Festival. Romel is emerging as a distinctive voice in contemporary Arab cinema.
